I would buy that for $200 if it was near me just for the adventure. Lots of miles, but if it's not an easy fix I'm sure over time you could sell $100 of parts then scrap what's left and end up even.

Its probably the 4.0 SOHC. Engine is toast.

The OHV 4.0 in my 98 Sport seized after an oil pump failure at 345k

I factored that in. The local pull apart has one on the lot and the engine would cost $250.

If I had the time and money to spare I would. Right now I need a car for a commute.

OHV or OHC? The OHC 4.0 had issues if not maintained. The 4.0 pushrod was an amazing mill.

Heck! That’s two weekends of work. For a grand all in it’d be a good truck.

It would be well worth it if I had the time space and money. I've still got a Jeep to fix and a reliable car to buy.

it’s wasn’t the newer one with the Sohc, it was the older 4.0.
